LIVE from the NYPL is a hotbed of public programs produced and presented at The New York Public Library. The desired goal of all LIVE events is to excite, provoke, and inspire thought through conversations, discussions, and real debates. LIVE is authors and filmmakers, politicians and musicians, psychoanalysts and chefs, philosophers and presidents, each participating in a fresh event that is built around a theme, a book, a film, an organized web of obsessions. Programs have included: Norman Mailer, EO Wilson, David Remnick, Mario Batali, John Updike, R. Crumb, and many others.

Paul Holdengräber, director of public programs, muses: “The ear is a sensitive organ and what we hear can change our lives.”
